The design is that I will be speaking during several weekends at the Tremont Shul (primarily the traditional minyan). In the spring, I will be helping organize a shabbaton somewhere along the east coast for the CMTL. My first visit to the Tremont Shul was 26-27 September, where I delivered a devar Torah at the end of Friday night services of the traditional minyan and a presentation after kiddush to the wider shul on Sleeping or Not Sleeping on Rosh HaShanah. My second visit to the Tremont Shul was on 21-23 November, where I led discussions at the end of Friday night services of the traditional minyan and during Shabbas morning services. The first of which was on the topic of considering Avraham's burial and the latter was on the topic of equating Keturah with Hagar or not. On that Sunday morning following shaharit, I led a discussion on Jewish perspectives on Thanksgiving.
My third visit to the Tremont Shul was on 12-14 December 2008. Friday night, I led a session on "When Should We Light Hanukah Candles?" (sources). During Saturday day kidush, I spoke on the topic of Jacob's name change after his wrestling. Finally, I spoke on "Upon What Did the Academies of Shammai & Hillel Differ Regarding Mehadrin Min HaMehadrin?" (sources) during the post-Shaharis breakfast on Sunday morning. |
